WildWings News

We have secured two fantastic prizes for two Prize Draws in Marquee 4, at this coming weekend’s event. WildWings have a cabin for two to Antarctica on offer, for travel this December, courtesy of One Ocean Expeditions.

Entry is by £1 tickets, available from WildWings plus Bruce Pearson and Mark Andrews stands in the Art Marquee. Second and third prizes are signed Bruce Pearson books, one with an original watercolour sketch inside!

All proceeds to the Save the Albatross Campaign.

On the Hookpod stand you have the chance to win a berth on next year’s Western Pacific Odyssey, all the way from New Zealand to Japan, courtesy of Heritage Expeditions. Their team are fund-raising to put these amazing, British, devices into commercial production. Ocean trials of the prototypes have shown seabird by catch as almost zero! For every £10 donated or pledged to Hookpod at Birdfair, you will be given a Prize Draw ticket. Both draws will be held at 1630 on sunday. (All costs are being absorbed by WildWings, all monies taken go directly to each cause)

John Brodie-Good and Sarah-Jane Thompson will man the WildWings stand, with frequent appearances from Keith and Linda Offord (Wild Insights) and guest appearances from Richard Webb and Wendy Coe. Mark Andrews and Bruce Pearson can both be found on their respective stands in the Art Marquee. Chris Collins will be helping out on the Heritage Expeditions stand in Marquee 4. Rumours of a brief appearance by Nigel Goodgame on friday too! Dick Filby is away this year. Two lectures to recommend, both on friday, 1200 Gerard Gorman (our man in Hungary) talks about the Woodpeckers of the World whilst at 1530 Chris Collins gives a talk on the Birds and Wildlife of the Western Pacific.

 See you there!
