50+ passenger expedition ship, cabins with and without private facilities.

Following the spectacular success of our Western Pacific Odyssey voyages, we are now delighted to announce another pioneering Pacific voyage, with the main target being three special tubenoses which have only been seen previously by a handful of birders. In addition, we can expect an excellent supporting cast of other seabirds, as well as a great selection of the island endemics of Fiji, Vanuatu and the eastern Solomon Islands. These waters are rarely visited and we can surely expect a surprise or two along the way. As always, we will also be looking for cetaceans as we sail through these azure seas and hope to find several poorly known species including Blainville’s Beaked Whale, Dwarf and Pygmy Sperm Whales and False and Pygmy Killer Whales.

The voyage will visit some of the most beautiful tropical islands in the world and in addition to birding, there will be opportunities for snorkeling in some of the most crystal clear waters on the planet.

We will also offer some optional post-voyage birding in the Solomons, subject to demand, led by Chris Collins with local guides, which will add many more land endemics.

Potential seabirds: Fiji, Magnificent, Vanuatu, Collared, White-necked, Kermadec and Tahiti Petrels, Wedge-tailed, Short-tailed and Tropical Shearwaters, Polynesian Storm-Petrel, Red-tailed and White-tailed Tropicbirds, Greater and Lesser Frigatebirds, Red-footed & Brown Boobies, Brown and Black Noddy, White, Crested, Bridled, Sooty and Black-naped Terns. Many other species are possible including Beck’s, Murphy’s, Phoenix and Herald Petrels, Heinroth’s Shearwater and Grey-backed Tern.

We can also offer special prices combining the vessel’s previous voyage, which runs from New Zealand via the Kermadec Islands and Tonga to Fiji. More information on request from us.
